Nearly 30 experts, researchers and practitioners representing 11 partner institutions from 5 European countries took part in a working meeting of the international TRIC consortium (Toward Resilient and Innovative Communities: Making Uncertainty Productive), in which the University of Gdańsk is also participating. The meeting took place on 17-18 September 2026 at the University of Gdańsk UG Library.

The main objective of the TRIC project is to redefine the way in which young people, educators and organisations respond to the dynamic changes and unpredictability of the modern world. The project aims to develop what is known as uncertainty competence - the ability to navigate conditions of uncertainty and to transform uncertainty and complexity into a catalyst for development, innovation and the building of psychological and social resilience. During the two-day meeting in Gdańsk, the partners focused on evaluating the results achieved so far and on carefully planning the next implementation stages within the individual work packages.

The meeting at the University of Gdańsk was attended by representatives from higher education institutions, vocational education and training (VET) centres, non-governmental organisations and the business sector. Representing the University of Gdańsk at the event were dr Aleksandra Peplińska, dr Dorota Godlewska-Werner and dr Marta Witkowska, who are members of the project team.

The meeting marked an important step towards building sustainable communities across Europe that are resilient to the challenges of the future. The results of the consortium’s work will soon be made available to educators, young people and partner organisations.
