Responsible evaluation of research work, opportunities for scientific career development and directions of changes in existing evaluation systems were the topics of meetings organised as part of the implementation of the RAR-UG project financed within the framework of the CoARA coalition. Representatives of 5 scientific disciplines, representing all groups of UG scientists, had the opportunity to meet individually with an external expert, the European Commission's auditor for ‘HR Excellence in Research’ and ‘Horizon Europe’ - Professor Milan Zdravkovic from Nis University.

'Identifying the need to change academic evaluation and searching for other evaluation indicators that will preserve the specificity of research in various scientific disciplines is a task that we want to accomplish by engaging in direct dialogue with scientists. That is why I have invited external experts with many years of international experience in the evaluation of scientific research to the project,’ emphasises dr Katarzyna Świerk, Director of the Science Office and project manager. Meetings with representatives of other disciplines will take place over the next two months.

‘The development of scientific research is a priority objective of the UG Strategy, and the external perspective and recommendations that we will receive after all the expert visits are completed will be valuable material for us to develop activities to support this process,’ concluded the Vice-Rector for Development and Finance, dr hab. Paweł Antonowicz, prof. UG.
