Internationally, together, and with sweet treats - that's how we will start celebrating the SEA-EU alliance's birthday on 20 January at 11:30 a.m.! We invite students of the University of Gdańsk to the Welcome Centre in the UG Library. During the event, you will learn about opportunities for foreign trips for UG students, hear about the experiences of former SEA-EU initiative participants, and eat a delicious raspberry cake. Admission is free!

How are we celebrating?

Firstly: together. Invitations to the birthday party will be posted on the walls of the University of Gdańsk faculties, but those interested without a ticket are equally welcome.

Secondly: locally. We will meet at the Welcome Centre in the UG Library on 20 January 2026 from 11:30. The event will begin with a panel discussion with students who have participated in SEA-EU initiatives. The participants will talk about their trip and how they managed to go through the recruitment process. In addition, the Cooperation and International Relations Office and the Centre for Student and Doctoral Activities will present additional opportunities for trips abroad.

Thirdly: internationally. Representatives of all partner universities will connect online with SEA-EU Rectors, who will celebrate together in Split. In addition, those present at the Welcome Centre will be able to test their knowledge of SEA-EU countries, namely Spain, France, Germany, Croatia, Malta, Portugal, Italy, Norway and Poland. The winners of the quiz can win sessions on a modern massage chair or unique alliance gadgets.

Fourthly: take it easy. The SEA-EU birthday is also a summary of the ‘Stress Relief’ student project. The research club behind this initiative, SciClub, invites you to learn how to play the game of a thousand and attend neuromeditation workshops, which will take place on 20 January at 1:15 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. at the Welcome Centre. Registration is required.

Fifthly: sweet. After the panel discussion and quiz, we invite all participants to enjoy cake, cookies and coffee/tea. During the Coffee Break, there will also be an opportunity to talk about trips abroad with the panel discussion participants. Anyone considering or interested in such an activity will have their curiosity satisfied.

And sixthly: fun. To capture the moments spent with friends or new acquaintances, there will be a photo booth with Alliance gadgets. In addition, a music quiz will be held in the evening at the Ygrek club. Knowledge of hits from various SEA-EU countries will be tested, but the main focus will be on having a good time.
