New grant programme for inter-university research groups from FarU. Applications open until 25 April

The Fahrenheit Synergy Programme is set to launch by 25 March at the latest, offering research groups from the MUG, GdańskTech and the University of Gdańsk the chance to secure funding of up to 750,000 PLN for a project. The programme is jointly organised by the Fahrenheit Universities and the investGDA Foundation.

The maximum funding amount for a given project under the Fahrenheit Synergy Programme is PLN 750,000. The call for applications will open in the coming days and will run until 25 April.

Who can apply?

Teams consisting of three research groups, each operating at a different university (MUG, GdańskTech, UG), may apply for a grant. Each group is headed by a leader who is a member of staff employed at that university as their primary place of work.

What are the criteria for evaluating applications?
  1. the academic achievements of the research group leaders (including scientific publications, patents, completed research projects) - maximum 10 points,
  2. research plan (scientific impact, impact of the research on the socio-economic environment, interdisciplinary dimension, impact of the research on the individual development of team members, synergy resulting from collaboration between research groups) - maximum 20 points.

Additional points may be awarded for proposals demonstrating the project’s alignment with the National Smart Specialisation (KIS), which defines priority areas within research, development and innovation (R&D&I). The current version (effective from 13 February 2023) is available both on the government website of the Ministry of Development and Technology (www.gov.pl) and on the official NIS website (www.smart.gov.pl).

The Synergy FarU grant programme is funded by the Fahrenheit Union of Universities in Gdańsk, including funds from a donation made for this purpose by the InvestGDA Foundation in Gdańsk and funds allocated for this purpose by the Medical University of Gdańsk, Gdańsk University of Technology and the University of Gdańsk.
