The Consultative Council is an advisory body currently consisting of 22 members representing academia, local governments, NGOs and business (mainly ICT companies). Its task is to build society's resilience to international disinformation and to formulate opinions and recommendations in the area of counteracting this threat.

‘An important challenge facing the Polish state and the European Union is to strengthen the resilience of society to aggressive and hostile disinformation that interferes with democratic processes,’ says prof. Arkadiusz Modrzejewski. ‘Therefore, it is the duty of the academic community to engage in building the European Democracy Shield, which protects elections from foreign interference. It is a protection of fundamental European values, such as democracy and the rule of law.’

The Council's approach is based on long-term cross-sector cooperation. It aims to promote public education on resilience to disinformation and to build public trust, including at the European level.
