Create courses on maritime and economic topics as part of SEA-EU

The SEA-EU alliance is launching a new category of virtual courses: Open Elective Modules (OEM)! SEA-EU universities invite academic teachers to submit proposals for courses in the field of economics. This is an excellent opportunity to increase the internationalisation of your faculty, expand your teaching offer and establish new collaborations. Recruitment for Marine Open Elective Modules related to marine sciences is also underway!

Economy-related Open Elective Modules
Economy-related Open Elective Modules

This new category allows for the creation of a series of online courses on economics-related topics. Thanks to these courses, Master's students can add an international component to their studies. Ultimately, each SEA-EU partner university will offer at least one course in economics, creating a rich and diverse teaching programme.

The modules will be taught by lecturers from SEA-EU universities and will be open to students from any university belonging to the alliance.

UG employees who are academic teachers and are interested in organising courses from the Economy-related Elective Modules are invited to send a completed form to dr Julia Ziółkowska - julia.ziolkowska@ug.edu.pl.

Marine Open Elective Modules

‘Introduction to Ocean Sustainability’, ‘Biodiversity and Biogeography’, ‘Maritime and Environmental Law’ - these are just a few of the proposals from educators from the coastal alliance. The Marine Open Elective Modules include all classes related to the broadly understood subject of seas and oceans. The new call for course applications for the 2025/26 academic year is a great opportunity to start collaborating with other SEA-EU universities and meet the educators working there.

Marine OEM classes are conducted in cooperation with the Master School of Marine Sciences (iMSMS) at the University of Kiel. So far, the University of Gdańsk has completed several editions of the Marine Data Literacy course. At the same time, other courses in this category, attended by students from all SEA-EU universities, were held at the University of Western Brittany in Brest, the University of Split and the University of Nord, among others.

UG employees who are academic teachers and are interested in organising courses from the Marine Elective Modules are invited to send the completed form to dr Ilona Złoch - ilona.zloch@ug.edu.pl.
