Academic Citizens’ Budget UG

As in previous years, the call for applications for the Academic Citizens‘ Budget of the University of Gdańsk (’ACB UG") is open in April.

This is the fourth edition of the competition. In the three previous editions, 8 projects selected by the academic community of our university were implemented on the university campuses in Gdańsk Oliwa and Sopot in the first two years of the competition. 4 more ideas, which turned out to be the best in the previous year, are in the implementation preparation stage.

ACB UG is a competition in which UG employees, students and doctoral students can submit their ideas for the development of the university throughout April. Infrastructure projects - both investment and renovation projects - as well as material projects involving the purchase of materials, equipment and furnishings are eligible for the competition. The list of projects submitted to ACB UG excludes so-called ‘soft projects’, such as cultural, sports or social events, and so-called ‘green projects’, which can be submitted to the Green University of Gdańsk competition taking place at the same time.

Projects for ACB UG can be submitted electronically in the Employee Portal and Student Portal, as well as on the website abo.ug.edu.pl.

As in previous years, a pool of funds in the amount of 200,000 PLN has been allocated for the implementation of ACB UG in the 2025 edition, with an equal amount of 100,000 PLN for projects submitted by employees and 100,000 PLN for those submitted by students and doctoral students.

The regulations and the most important information about the competition are available on the website abo.ug.edu.pl.

Green UG

In parallel to ACB UG, a call for applications is being held for the second edition of the Green University of Gdańsk competition.

Green University of Gdańsk is an initiative implemented as part of the SEA-EU 2.0 project financed by Erasmus+, supporting the green transformation of the University of Gdańsk through a series of activities, indicated in the Competition Regulations.   • initiatives aimed at reducing the consumption of paper and other office supplies (shared printer);
  • rainwater management, green waste, composting;

Projects concerning the creation of community gardens are excluded from the Green UG competition.

Employees, students and doctoral students submit their projects in mixed teams, consisting of at least one student or doctoral student and one academic teacher or administrative employee of the UG, which is a prerequisite for participation in the competition.

Projects for the Green UG competition can be submitted electronically via the Employee Portal and Student Portal, as well as on the website zielony.ug.edu.pl.
