Can science be combined with fun? Absolutely! On May 25, the Hevelianum science centre will once again be transformed into a vibrant open-air laboratory. Join us for the 4th Fahrenheit Science Picnic, organised by three Tricity universities on Góra Gradowa in Gdańsk.

The Fahrenheit Science Picnic was initiated by the Fahrenheit University and has been organised jointly with Hevelianum since 2022. It is a unique opportunity to discover science through fun, including experiments, demonstrations, workshops and sports challenges. This event is for everyone, regardless of age, interests or level of knowledge about science.

What attractions have been prepared this year?

SCIENCE STAGE

The programme includes a zero waste fashion show, a spectacular science show about the history of the oceans and a story about waste in space. Participants will learn about the secrets of forest treasures and innovative student projects, such as an autonomous watercraft and a self-service health monitoring station, showing how science can support everyday life.

ATTRACTION TOWN

Picnic participants will find over 60 tents full of attractions in the fields of medicine, science, humanities and ecology, prepared by the University of Gdańsk, Gdańsk University of Technology and the Medical University of Gdańsk, as well as sports challenges. The list of attractions will be enriched by activities prepared by our Partners: VR simulations, a solar telescope, historical and ecological curiosities, forest walks, a large-format game, a hydrogen bus, a mobile laboratory and much more.

PYTHAGORAS ROOM

Thanks to quick finger blood tests, you will be able to check your sugar, cholesterol and uric acid levels. The results will be discussed by specialists who will advise you on how to take care of yourself on a daily basis.

SCIENCE BUSKING - LIVE SCIENCE

Don't look for science - it will find you! An educator with props will roam the event area, stopping to do simple but surprising experiments with you 🧫

KIDS' ZONE

The youngest visitors will enjoy music, bubbles and craft workshops. There will also be a surprise: a fairy tale about good everyday habits, such as saving water and electricity, sorting waste and treating others responsibly. Every child will receive a free book!

HEVELIANUM INTERACTIVE PERMANENT EXHIBITION ‘WITH ENERGY!’

Thanks to the support of Aramco Europe, admission to the permanent exhibition will be free on the day of the Picnic. This is a great opportunity to learn more about where energy comes from and how to use it wisely. The exhibition will introduce you to various sources of energy, its transformations and the use of renewable energy.
