Firefighting training, ALKOgoggles and NARKOgoggles, consultations and workshops for the University of Gdańsk community, and a health run: these are just some of the attractions that will mark the 5th Occupational Safety and Health Day at the University of Gdańsk. The event, organised by the Health and Safety Inspectorate of the University of Gdańsk in cooperation with the University of Gdańsk Development Foundation, will take place on 15 May from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Gdańsk.
‘This year, we have prepared more attractions than in previous editions,’ says Tomasz Klawikowski, Head of the Health and Safety Inspectorate at the University of Gdańsk. ‘This is a good opportunity to experience what occupational safety really is. For the first time, we have invited several experts from external institutions. The programme includes a VR show, a fire trainer, a smoke chamber, exoskeletons, massage, specialist consultations, a health run and much more. I think everyone will find something interesting for themselves. It's definitely worth a visit!’
Work Safety and Health Day is a great opportunity to take an interest in your own health. UG employees will be able to take advantage of an offer that is specially prepared for them. Four activities require prior registration. These are:
- First aid workshops
- 10:30-11:30, 13:00-14:00, room 3083, Faculty of Law and Administration
- Exercises with a physiotherapist
- 10:30-11:30, room 2042, Faculty of Law and Administration
- Office massage
- 11:00-13:00, Zero Stress zone, Faculty of Law and Administration
- Quick diagnostic tests
- 11:00-14:00, room no. 1057, Faculty of Law and Administration
Registration starts on 8 May at 9:00 on the BPiOZ website.
Other attractions will include trying your hand at firefighting, squeezing juice with your own muscles (like on a bike), testing your reflexes in an interactive form, seeing a fire engine up close, testing an exoskeleton, and spinning the health and safety wheel of fortune.
We also encourage you to take part in the run for health, which starts in front of the WNS building at noon. Registration via the form and on the day of the event from 11:00 a.m. This is also when the distribution of start numbers will begin. The first 100 people will receive medals!
Charade lovers can try their luck in a maze (downloadable here). The completed form should be sent to bhp@ug.edu.pl or placed in the health and safety box located in the Rector's Office on the ground floor or in the box at the exit of the Faculty of Law and Administration on the day of the event. The form must be submitted by 25 May 2025. There are 10 prizes to be won, to be chosen from the UG shop run by FRUG.
We cordially invite you to participate!
