The fifth edition of the ‘Climate Person of the Year’ competition, co-organised by the Ministry of Climate and Environment, has been concluded. In the ‘Young Scientist’ category, the main award went to Mateusz Baluk, a PhD student and employee of the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Gdańsk. The award ceremony took place on 13 November in Warsaw.
The award in the ‘Young Scientist’ category was granted to Mateusz Baluk for his high-quality research and promotional activities in the areas of climate protection, sustainable development and the development of environmental technologies. This award confirms the scientist's significant contribution to research and public education in the field of climate change mitigation and ecological transformation.
The aim of the ‘Climate Person of the Year’ competition is to recognise individuals who are particularly committed to climate and environmental action and who build environmental awareness through education, science or social activities.
