Sea-BluE wins an award in the ‘Co-Create to Educate’ competition! The joint programme of the SEA-EU alliance was recognised at the international conference ‘Joint and Double Programmes in Europe’ at the Łódź University of Technology. This is the first such distinction for international first-cycle studies, which were accredited less than a year ago.

The international conference ‘Joint and Double Programmes in Europe’ was held on 26-27 November 2025 at the Lodz University of Technology, bringing together representatives of European universities and institutions as well as experts from 17 European countries. Participants discussed the future of education, including flexible learning pathways, micro-credentials, recognition of achievements and the future of joint study programmes in the context of the European Education Area and the planned European Joint Degree. The University of Gdańsk was represented at the conference by the Joint Studies Coordinator, Edyta Hoffmeister.

During the event, the ‘Co-Create to Educate: International Collaboration Award’ was presented for the most inspiring and innovative educational initiatives created through international cooperation. The University of Gdańsk was recognised for the preparation and implementation of the joint SeaBluE programme - international innovative studies in the field of the blue economy, carried out as part of the SEA-EU alliance.

The SEA-EU joint degree programmes combine the teaching potential of European coastal universities and provide innovative education for future specialists in the field of sustainable maritime economy, port management and sustainable development management. Modern, international study programmes respond to challenges related to climate change, marine pollution and ecosystem protection, among others.
