The University of Gdańsk, one of the largest employers in Pomerania, took 2nd place in Gdańsk and 3rd place in the Education and Research sector in the ‘Poland's Best Employers 2025’ ranking by ‘Forbes’ magazine. This year's report covered 300 best employers from 25 industries, employing at least 250 people.
‘I would like to thank all my colleagues, at every level, for their work, thanks to which our University is so highly rated, also in this ranking! Let's keep going!’ said the Rector of the University of Gdańsk, prof. dr hab. Piotr Stepnowski.
Our university ranked second among Gdańsk employers (behind Intel). In the Education and Research sector, it ranked third (behind the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and the University of Silesia in Katowice).
The selection of the best employers was made in cooperation with Statista R, an international company that evaluates companies, brands and products, and creates rankings based on comprehensive market research and data analysis. According to Forbes, the ranking was based on the results of anonymous questionnaires completed by employees of the evaluated companies between October and November last year.
The current success of companies was largely determined by how they coped with the pandemic: ‘The best employers used the crisis to transform their companies and developed a style of people management adapted to the new circumstances,’ reads the magazine's website. Among the factors determining the success of the best companies were: flexibility and giving employees greater autonomy, meeting the needs of young people, focusing on the mental health of employees, working on leadership development (in the context of remote or hybrid work and new forms of communication), ensuring digital education for employees, and more effective competence management.
