The newly established studio is a modern, compact film and recording space, designed to support the academic community of the University of Gdańsk. It facilitates a wide range of research, teaching and outreach activities.

It provides professional facilities for both preparing conference presentations and participating in online meetings, which is particularly important for those who do not have suitable space at home or at work. Equipped with cameras, microphones, lighting and specialist software, the studio enables the creation of video and audio content.

The studio enables, amongst other things:

  • participation in online conferences and training sessions
  • recording of speeches and lectures
  • conducting academic and popular science interviews
  • creating vlogs and podcasts
  • hosting live broadcasts and meetings

This space will also serve as a venue for new educational initiatives and multimedia projects designed to develop the skills of UG students and staff.

The studio has been equipped with high-end audio-visual equipment and ergonomic workstations. Its preparation was preceded by refurbishment work carried out from June 2025, including soundproofing the room, replacing the lighting and installing blinds.

The studio’s equipment includes, amongst other things, professional Rode NT1 5th Gen condenser microphones with studio booms and pop filters, a RØDECaster Pro II audio interface, and Rode NTH-100 studio headphones, ensuring high-quality audio recording and monitoring.

The video section features a range of cameras, including 4K streaming cameras, as well as studio lighting, a Stream Deck and a green screen, enabling both traditional recordings and more advanced multimedia productions.

The studio is also equipped with two workstations featuring computers, monitors, and ergonomic desks with electrically adjustable height and chairs with headrests, enabling comfortable individual and team work, including the conduct of interviews. The setup is complemented by professional software from the Adobe Creative Cloud suite for editing and post-production of materials.

Who can use the studio - and how?

The studio is available to all staff employed at the University of Gdańsk, including research, teaching and administrative staff. Students supervised by the University of Gdańsk staff will also have access to the space.

Use of the studio will be possible after prior registration via a dedicated booking system (currently under development). Users will also receive instructions on how to use the available equipment and software.
